You know those music memes where you list lyrics from songs and people comment and guess the title and artist? This is exactly like that, only different! ;-)

How many of these lines of dialogue -- all taken from 2008 DS Match fic posted so far -- can you place? Can you guess the story and/or the speaker?

Don't search through the fics to find the answers, and don't look at others' comments first -- just use your best guess. Remember, the fun is in the guessing! \o/

  1. A lady Mountie? Come on, Lieutenant, how am I supposed to do my job if I'm babysitting that?

  2. And if he wants to know something that you can't tell him, well, you better figure it out, and fast.

  3. And you have to know I wouldn't even be asking if it wasn't— It's a piece of paper, asshole. It won't bite you.

  4. But I know that it is significant. The number, that is. Three.

  5. German, Czech, Polish, Romanian—who cares? I could have married him, but I decided to—ah, never mind.

  6. Has anything bitten you recently?

  7. He's gonna have to know anyway, am I right? And maybe he'll be able to make you see reason, because I am a big zero for one on that right now and I don't hold out a lot of hope for the next round.

  8. Him, his date and some taxi driver. All down the same alley. Driver had his pants unzipped so we’re assuming he was taking a leak down there. Doesn’t seem to be connected, he probably just got in the way.

  9. Hooker tie you to a chair?

  10. I still feel a burden shared is a burden reduced.

  11. I was wondering how we came to be tied to a crate of prosthetic legs for horses.

  12. I’d have stayed with him in that shack, if he’d asked, out in the asscrack of nowhere.

  13. If you get an infection and your head falls off, it ain't gonna be my fault.

  14. If you're here to see my husband, I'm afraid you've just missed him.

  15. I'm great, what makes you think I'm not?

  16. I'm perfectly all right. I understand that you're upset, but it isn't necessary.

  17. It's a practical hairstyle.

  18. My partner wears red and leaps off tall buildings. It's his thing.

  19. Number one, I'm dead so I can't talk.

  20. One more word about the Inuit or how pemmican is made or the peculiarities of the Arctic tundra, and I'm gonna find another crevasse and throw myself in it.

  21. Those three don’t need matchmakers. Give it a week.

  22. What's a Chicago? Does everyone there have magical powers?

  23. Yeah, she's just the baby of the team and it's good she has a mind of her own, but she's messing everybody up.

  24. You already give me your time, your affection, and the pleasure of your company.

  25. You and I have seen any number of cases in which, ultimately, passion was the motive.

  26. You hit your head on something when you fell from the nun-mobile.

  27. You still okay to drive, or you want to switch off? I can drive if you need me to.

  28. You think I'm gonna judge you because maybe you think about something sometimes besides saving kittens?
